Artificial Intelligence in the Workforce

Identifying ML’s role in AI is crucial to founding a knowledge base from which to analyse its applications.

AI can be conceptualized in the following three-tier system:

1. Artifical Intelligence (AI)
2. Machine Learning (ML)
3. Deep Learning (DL)

1. Artifical Intelligence (AI)

Intelligence can be defined as having the ability to make decisions and predictions based on previously acquired information. Applying this concept to machines begets AI, in which, the goal is to mimic human behaviour utilizing complex algorithms(Amini 2018).

2. Machine Learning (ML)

To achieve AI, a subset of AI in the form of ML, seeks to attain the ability to learn without explicitly being programmed(Amini 2018).

3. Deep Learning (DL)

DL is the forthcoming subset under ML, that analyses data using neural networks (Amini 2018).
